A MCU controlled solid-state battery isolator which is designed for caravan, four wheels drive and truck. It protects the Main (Starting) battery from over discharged by on-board appliance such as fridge, track light etc or Auxiliary battery.
Selection between isolator and protector
Use a single wire to select between isolator and protector with different voltages for connect and disconnect.
Connect voltage | Disconnect voltage | |
Isolator | 26.4V | 25.2V |
Protector | 25.0V | 23.5V |
Typical isolator connection
Typical protector connection
Connect starting battery to auxiliary battery
The unit is set to operate as isolator when connecting between two batteries. The MCU constantly monitors the voltage level at the Main (Starting) battery and when the voltage reaches a high preset level 26.4V, it connects the two batteries in parallel, and the Auxiliary battery is being charged.
When the voltage at the main battery drops to low preset level 25.2V, the battery isolator disconnects the two batteries. Thus safeguarding the main battery from over discharged by the auxiliary battery.
Connect starting battery or auxiliary to DC load
The unit is set to operate as protector when connecting the battery and DC load. When the voltage at the battery reaches a high preset level 25.0V, it closes connection and supply power to DC load.
When the voltage at the battery drops to low preset level 23.5V, the unit disconnect the battery from DC load to provide over-discharge of the battery.
In vehicles use casing design
The unit is resistant to vibration, moisture and dust regression on the due to construction of painted galvanized steel casing and coating on the PCB. Casing integrated mounter holes make installation easier and secure under moving environment.
Simple and easy to use design with single LED indicator to clearly show the isolator is in operation and connected.
Emergency manual over-ride
The unit can be hard wired with t an external low voltage switch (kill switch) to connect to the positive dc source to force-connect the two terminals at all modes.
